Last day of 2014

So done for 2014? -- no, not quite yet -- this needed to be done to finished up the #Festive500.

Now that was a little tricky to get done under some boundary conditions as a late start on December 25th, noon for the first counting kilometers due a total wash out until the sky in a hurry cleared up on 25th by about 11am after a few days of pouring rain with high winds.

Dec 25th:  132.7km solo ride.

Dec 26th: 139.3km solo+Kreb Shop ride+solo-stop at work-solo ride home.

 Dec 27/28th:  CX race weekend at Sunken Meadow 19.7+24.7km (incl. warmup).

Dec. 29th: -/- due to work obligations not even the planned on lunch ride happened :(

Dec. 30th: morning commute with extra loop 34.4km + commute into night with lights 46.2km + Zwift Island test lap after fixing up power tap 8.1km

Dec. 31st: fishing it up 102.8km.

About 100km to go. So let's roll.

A brisk sunny but fairly chilly day -- but hey, with the right jacket, and extra booties just fine for a great solo ride. Not in any hurry, just finish it up and on the last miles rolling back into town get some local shopping done for a great dinner!

Total: 508km

CXing at Sunken Meadow Saturday + Sunday

One more Long Island CX weekend, this time a new venue at Sunken Meadow.

#Festive500 -- not the most ideal way to get in miles... but had to participate this local fun organized by out club. So finishing the season with 10 CX races done.

Saturday, a beautiful December day, Sunday -- looking like a rainy day, but lucked out with some rain before the races, then just fine CX conditions.

Krebs Boxing Day Ride or was it a race?

So Py got this announced as a social ride...but weeeeeell -- won't call extended repeats at 30+mph social. Anyway, beyond too much stopping some failed meeting.... a great day out there.

However, the post (Kreb ride) get together at the Bellport cafe was nice, thanks for the coffee :)

Merry Christmas -- what a present by mother nature!

A little little new here, but don't worry -- still riding on, just a little shifted priorities :-)

After almost a week of dull, foggy, wet and heavy rain... all sudden in a snap with the help of good sustained winds the Island seaming "dived out of the mess" within an hour and the sun popped up on a blue sky and on top of it still temperatures unusual high topping out at 10 degrees C! Almost not even thinking about a ride in the morning a quick decision and rolling out just before noon with still partially wet roads, but just fine. About 4 hours to go until sun down -- so estimating to get about 120km in heading out East on proven roads extending a little East.... What a fun flight out Easy with some NW tail wind! At about 45min into the ride already at Iron Pear Beach... Woa! Continuing planning on returning via Cutchogue after a little furthe out East loop -- turning around about about 1h45. Well -- the return will take a little longer.

1st aft Long Island Kings Park CX of the season kicked off with some well worth Cross weather... pouring rain, wind and a muddy sloppy course.

Fun times beyond the "after math" clean ups!
