Day 6 - Friday - Altoona - Toona race lap, Blue Knob

For the last day Py had made up some good century option but common consens was to go a little short. Looking around for options and also on Strava Py located the Altoona race coarse, not knowing much about it, he like the route and the bigger climb it featured! So let's go for a remote start in Altoona.

Just the five Kev, Len, Johnny, Robin and Py.

A different start out of town, pretty nice. Py pulled they pretty much all the way as long as they hooked up... long haul with a little head wind out South. Water refill stop before hitting the climbs. The climb up to Blue Knob started very gradual with head wind while Robin was just taking advantage of Py's gradual move up hill sitting on his wheel. Needed to stop and wait to point out directions before hitting the actual interesting part -- the CAT 2 rated climb Overland pass. Again unfortunately had to wait not to let riders divert off route at the entrance to Blue Knob -- the short last gravely or bad condition road to the very top...

At the top of at Blue Knob.

A short fast descent from there, then a more gradual and rolling part before hitting a great near 8 miles 3% descent -- just awesome -- that must be fun flying in a race pack! Later a few more counter climbs and more great smooth mostly strait flying descents... fun fun.

The last climb. The group decided to return and not to add the Pro1/2 addition.
